Brazilian Philately: The Pan Am Zeppelin Flight of 1930 |
Dealers in General, an Overview
Introduction
There's no doubt, that on the one hand the a majority of the covers on this flight were philatelically inspired, and of those, again, a sizable fraction is due to the efforts of the dealers active in aerophilately. Thanks to them, there are a lot of covers sent on this flight still available at reasonable prices. This contribution is thought of as a clearinghouse of the whole dealer spectrum. Some dealers went at it in a grand style, using preprinted envelopes and cards for their covers, others used the good old typewriter and/or hand for their's. Along these lines, this overview has been structured.
The Cover Factories
The covers shown below, all have a striking similarity to them, and it seems this is no coincidence, all had their's made at the same print shop /1/. The following table of gives a quick overview of the names involved.
And then, there were a group, that had their own characteristic form, different from the above. Below a few examples one comes across on this flight.
